Ruthie V.
In 2016, Ruthie V. and Lendy Hensley started the Seattle Artist League.
Ruthie V. has a practiced talent for creative expression, and the drive to connect with others through artistic practice. Ruthie’s teaching style helps her students unlock their potential and open new areas of exploration. For people who have never painted before, she finds entry points that are inclusive and welcoming. For more experienced students she provides challenges and direction to strengthen technical skills while helping them develop their work as serious artists. Her talent as an instructor includes an ability to guide each student towards their own artistic discovery.
Ruthie V. graduated with a painting degree from Western Washington University in 2008, and studied art in Japan and Italy. Her work has been shown at the Seattle Art Museum Gallery, Bellevue Arts Museum, Tacoma Arts Museum, Smith and Vallee Gallery, and more. Ruthie has a practiced talent for creative expression, and the drive to connect with others through artistic practice. Since moving to Seattle in 2012 Ruthie has taught drawing, painting, and design at Pratt Fine Arts, the Art Institute of Seattle, Kirkland Arts Center, and South Seattle College. She is creative director and teacher at the Seattle Artist League.
