Natasha Tripathi

Natasha Tripathi is a painter and teaching artist whose work is rooted in memory, observation and imagination. She draws inspiration from everything including stories, research and of course, other artists. She left the world of publishing to earn an MFA from New York Studio School before moving from Brooklyn to Seattle in 2024, where she now maintains an active studio practice. At the core of Natasha’s work and teaching method, inherited from her teachers at the NYSS, is a willingness to let go of the need to make something successful. Instead, she encourages students to listen to the painting, allowing the work itself to reveal what it needs and where it wants to go.This means students are encouraged to understand the formal language of painting, closely observe, and experiment. When she’s not painting, you might find her on her meditation cushion, walking her dog or eating chaat.
