“My goal as a teacher will always be to empower students to feel more confident, imaginative, and curious in their art making. I can offer a clear set of painting and color skills, and can pair it with both encouragement and critique. I am a strong believer in critique, especially since students come to an art class to improve and need clear, concise feedback to do so. I have always thrived in a school environment as a student, and benefited most from teachers who were themselves working artists. They brought such honesty and clarity to art making by sharing their own journeys and growth. My best teachers were the ones who could meet me where I was at–simplifying their knowledge and applying it to what I struggled with”. – Erin
