Animals make great subjects for artwork, and people love having portraits of their pets. We will spend the week working on a 12″x12″ canvas creating a portrait of any animal you know, based on reference photos you have brought with you. You can choose to paint realistically, expressively or stylized, whatever suits your creative ideas. We can even add mixed media and creative symbolism. There are so many possibilities. During this camp you will learn how to use a grid to draw your subject realistically if you choose, and at the same time improve your acrylic painting skills. Your finished painting can also make a special gift for someone who loves animals.
Beginners welcome!
Artists are encouraged to bring a sketchbook and drawing materials that they enjoy. All other tools and materials will be provided – materials included in price.
Covid Statement: The Seattle Artist League currently requires masking for all students and teachers. We will evaluate the policy before the start of camps. Please check back for updates.
