Explore the rich tradition of Indian miniature painting in this 8-week course. Students will learn foundational techniques of this historic art form using authentic materials, including natural pigments, handmade brushes, and traditional paper.

The course will begin with an introduction to traditional motifs as seen in Mughal, Rajasthani, and Pahari miniature painting. Students will study historical masterworks, learn traditional methods of surface preparation, pigment mixing, and fine brushwork, and create their own paintings in response.

As the course progresses, students will also have the opportunity to develop personal design interpretations, blending traditional techniques with modern design sensibilities.
