Sumi-e Landscape

  • Teacher: Angie Dixon
  • Class Length:  3 Weeks
  • Class Begins: Saturday, March 1
  • Time: 10:00-1:00 pm

Learn to paint landscapes using traditional Asian brush and ink techniques. This class focuses on creating images of mountains, trees, rocks, water, and other elements of a landscape. Students can choose any type of landscape—deserts, forests, or mountains, including those inspired by Asian traditions.

This is not a class on classic Chinese landscape painting formulas. Instead, we will explore general landscape composition using brush and ink techniques. If students wish to include close-up subjects like bamboo or cherry branches, they are welcome to, but the focus is on wider perspectives.

The class is open to all skill levels and encourages creative interpretations of landscapes.
