For potters ready to refine function and form, this class emphasizes scaling up while adding complexity through lids, handles, and intentional design. You’ll focus on making pots that not only look good but feel good—considering function, ergonomics, weight, and utility in every form. Potters will learn how to throw larger, taller pots and shape more intentional designs on the wheel. Advanced slip decoration will be covered, as well as altering forms. Porcelain and stoneware will be introduced. Pottery will be microwave and dishwasher safe (if they fit).
This is a repeatable class.
PREREQUISITE: Beginning Pottery, Beginning Wheel Throwing, and/or Intro to Ceramics from any school at least once.
Come dressed comfortably, with clothes that can get messy.
Tools and materials will be provided – materials included in price.
