Pottery: Intermediate Wheel Throwing

  • Date: Saturdays, beginning June 3
  • Time: 1:30 – 4:30pm
  • Materials fee $25 – included in price

This Level 2 Ceramics class will help you reach new heights with throwing pottery on the wheel. Potters will learn how to throw larger, taller pots, and how to shape more intentional designs designs on the wheel. Advanced slip decoration will be covered, as well as altering forms. Porcelain, white clay, and stoneware will be introduced. Pottery will be microwave and dishwasher safe.

Clay is never boring; there is always more to explore, more to try out and more to create. This is a highly repeatable class.

 

PREREQUISITE: Beginning Pottery, Beginning Wheel Throwing, and/or Intro to Ceramics from any school at least once.

Come dressed comfortably, with clothes that can get messy.

Tools and materials will be provided – materials included in price.

 

Pottery Classes at the Seattle Artist League

Join us for pottery classes in our 2,700 square foot studio in Seattle’s Georgetown Arts District. We offer classes for beginning ceramics in wheel throwing, hand-building, firing, and glazing. Our pottery classes are open to beginners and intermediate potters.

We have long offered classes in clay sculpting. Our commitment to the medium has expanded with the opening of our south Seattle Ceramics Studio. Join us for classes, workshops, and events in Seattle’s newest ceramics studio.

At the Seattle Artist League, we have a start where you are philosophy. You are welcome in our studio as a beginner or a seasoned pro. Join us.
