Miniature Paintings
- Teacher: Siobhan Wilder
- Class Length: 8 Weeks
- Class Days: Saturdays, beginning January 27
- Time: 12:00 – 2:00 pm
For the miniature enthusiast who relishes the details, this 8-week course is your way into the tiny exquisite worlds of fine art miniature paintings. Participants will learn miniature art history and intricate techniques of European, Indian, and Persian miniature art, working primarily on the European tradition. Start with small tin paintings and 1″ x 1 1/2″ gessoed panels. Then progress to tagua nut, a contemporary substitute for the classic ivory miniatures. For those keen to see the the tiniest details with ease, we’ll provide magnifying desk lamps.
