Intermediate Painting: THURSDAY EVENING begins 1.18

$375.00

Intermediate Painting

  • Teacher: Ruthie V.
  • Class Length: 8 week session
  • Start Date: Thursday, January 18
  • Time: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The most important endeavor for any artist is to find an authentic way to express themselves. This class will help you find your own direction.

This class is catered to the continuing artist who would like to benefit from the camaraderie of others, or someone who needs a boost to their own creative practice. Lessons will be given in response to individual painter’s experiences with color, mediums, composition, studio practices, and more. Homework will be given, but if the only time you have for creative time during the week is class time, you are invited to attend and use class time to the fullest.

This is an active painting studio and feedback based class. Artists will learn how to give and how to stay in control of a no-tears substantive critique, while also learning how to talk about their own work.

This class is suitable for realist and abstract painters alike. No class is ever the same. With lectures, discussions, demos, and lots of individual attention, you’ll expand what is possible, and develop the skills necessary for a sustained exploration into painting.

PREREQUISITE: To ensure a cohesive class experience, registration is open to artists who have received permission from the instructor. If you have not taken this class before, please send a description of your painting experience along with images of your current work to contact@seattleartistleague.com.

Materials

Come as you are, with what you prefer to use. Oil, acrylic, watercolor, dry media – all are welcome. Be prepared to share your work. Recommendations will be offered in response to work shared.
