Overview
The most important endeavor for any artist is to find an authentic way to express themselves. This class helps you explore your own direction, whether you’re a continuing artist who values camaraderie or someone seeking a boost in your creative practice.
This independent study welcomes realist and abstract artists working in various media. It offers studio space, peer support, one-on-one instructor guidance, and time to develop your work in drawing, painting, sculpture, or mixed media. Participants bring their own projects and materials to work on, and we’ll discuss your direction and ideas, and give you time to explore. You’ll have opportunities to learn and practice constructive, no-tears critiques and learn to articulate your artistic vision, improving your ability to discuss and present your work.
Challenges are tailored to individual needs, such as deadlines and accountability, specific lesson development, planning next steps, participating in exhibitions or sales, and refining professional practices. Throughout the course, Ruthie will provide personalized feedback and suggestions to help you refine your artwork and generate new ideas. Whether your focus is creating art or building a creative business, this class provides the structure and support to help you succeed.
Personalized Support
Every two weeks, you’ll have the chance to schedule one-on-one sessions with Ruthie to discuss your work, set personal goals, and receive tailored advice and ideas. This personalized approach ensures you get the guidance you need to advance your skills and projects.
Community and Collaboration
Share the studio with other artists in an inspiring and supportive environment. While working independently, you’re invited to engage with your peers, exchange ideas, and collaborate. This community aspect fosters creativity, connection, and growth.
