An impossible one-hour visual talk about how art works. Ruthie V. will take a fast, opinionated tour through composition, space, movement, value, color, shape, rhythm, hierarchy, and the many ways art communicates before we consciously understand what it is doing. We’ll take apart drawings, paintings, and sculptures, then connect what we find to human experience and the practical decisions artists make.

This firehose of curiosity and discovery is for artists at every level, curious non-artists, and anyone who wants to see more in the art around them, from celebrated masterpieces to imperfect and developing work.

This is a talk, not a studio class. No supplies needed.
