Beginning Figure Drawing: Line and Shape
(Distributed Line, Envelope, Shadow Shapes)
Learn to draw the human figure through structure rather than anatomy. You’ll practice distributed line to connect rhythms through the body, envelope to establish proportion, and shadow shapes to define light and weight. Working from live models, each drawing builds fluency in gesture, balance, and design. This course bridges observation and invention—the human form as a composition of living shapes.
