Beginning Figure Drawing: Clothed Figure: Line and Shape
(Distributed Line, Envelope, Shadow Shapes)

Clothing transforms the figure into new rhythms of fold, contour, and mass. This class studies how fabric reveals structure beneath it and creates structure of its own. Through distributed line and shadow shapes, you’ll learn to express both body and drapery as unified movement. Working from clothed models, you’ll analyze proportion, gesture, and design while exploring how shape conveys weight, texture, and human presence.
