“Without being able to “see” it is difficult to draw, but without being able to draw, it is a problem learning to see. Fortunately…learning to draw deals with both concurrently.” Keith Micklewright Drawing, Mastering the language of Visual Expression
This short class covers many of the essential traditional ways to approach drawing the figure. Focusing on the basic elements of line, shape and value allows you to draw, not copy. The complexity of the human body can be daunting, and the exercises in this class allow artists to see the body as a whole, not a collection of parts.
This class is a fun introduction to figure drawing for beginners, and a great quick refresher course for more experienced artists.
- Week One – Contour and Gesture
- Week Two – Shape; The Envelope; Measuring
- Week Three – Value and Form
- Week Four – Composing – Inspiration from Other Artists
