    3 Day Intensive Workshop

For those with a busy schedule, we offer this 3-day Pottery Intensive. This allows participants to attend over the weekend, making it easier to fit this enriching experience into your week.

This intensive is designed for intermediate potters looking to refine their wheel-throwing skills, develop their personal aesthetic, and produce a significant body of work. The focus will be on overcoming technical hurdles and discovering your personal voice as a potter. It’s an opportunity to move beyond habits, norms, and limitations, looking inward instead of to social media for inspiration, and developing a new level of intention and specificity with your pottery. As you continue through this workshop, your aesthetic voice will become second nature to your hands, enabling you to create with confidence and clarity.

    Constructive Projects

    Altering forms; transcending simple forms
Combining forms to create a single piece
Going big! Let’s see how much clay you can get behind and turn it into something.

    Design and Decoration

Decorating materials and techniques such as slip, sgraffito, texture, and glazing will be practiced throughout the week. However, for this workshop, the focus will be specifically on how to match form to surface as you continue to discover and develop your personal direction with the clay.

Why this intensive is superior to your regular weekly classes

This 3-day long intensive runs all day for three consecutive days, providing an immersive environment that is highly effective at breaking through unconscious norms and technical limitations. Spending extended hours each day allows for deep focus and uninterrupted practice, which is crucial for mastering complex techniques and overcoming obstacles. Repeated practice in a short period of time accelerates skill development, making it easier to retain new techniques and integrate them into your regular practice. The all-day format encourages experimentation and risk-taking, helping you push past creative blocks and discover new approaches to your work.

With one of the most knowledgeable teachers in the area, you will receive guidance, feedback, and personalized instruction, ensuring that you make significant progress. The intensive nature of the workshop allows you to dive deep into finding your personal style and voice as a potter. Working alongside fellow potters fosters a supportive environment where you can share ideas, learn from others, and stay motivated. This is a chance to clarify your artistic choices and practice them until they become second nature to your own hands. This is a unique opportunity to break through creative boundaries, discover your unique voice, and establish a new, confident approach to your work.

    Prerequisites: Beginning Pottery x2.

Open Studio Hours: 7 days a week!
